SOA /API Tester

Role & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting and independently completing project tasks
  • Identifies and solves problems using analysis, experience, and decision making
  • Understands and confidently explains the test design and defects logged during testing using the test management tools and methods and their application on a project, contributes to continuous improvement of testing processes
  • Responsible for creating test scenarios and test cases using requirements and design specifications, coming up with test execution plan, executing test cases and analyzing/effectively articulating defects during review process
  • Responsible for creating test approach, test plan and test work plans on software testing engagements
  • May independently own a work stream as well as involve in providing peer review feedback
  • Demonstrates accountability and contributions to the successful realization of self and team goals

 

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of testing & QA experience (7+ years of overall IT experience preferred)
  • Strong insight into Airlines domain
  • Familiarity with testing Interface / API services is a mandatory
  • Strong experience with test planning, test design, test execution & test reporting as well as experience in coordinating testing and test artifacts across various phases of testing (e.g. IT, UAT,E2E Regression, etc.)
  • Strong Experience in Tools – SOAP UI, Postman, Bitbucket, Jira and QTest
  • Exposure to Mulesoft , Websphere
  • Experience in testing EAI components
  • Exposure in Service Virtualization Setup and Execution
  • Knowledge of test data management practice and ability to coordinate test data across teams is a plus
  • Automate test cases using test automation framework with automation tools such as SOAP UI ,LISA, , Cucumber
  • Strong end-to-end knowledge of SDLC (software development lifecycle) in either waterfall or Agile/DevOps methodology/CICD Approach
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral and ability to work in team setting
  • Thorough knowledge of Defect life cycle and experience in defect creation, tracking, prioritization and review the details with multiple development teams and functional leads
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of testing tools such as Jira, QTest, HP ALM.
  • Sets up the Execution plan in qTest is plus
  • Automation through SOAP UI – Webservices
  • Ability to multi-task & support multiple priorities / multiple deliverables
  • Must be willing to work in Shifts if needed
